Vacuuming is included in OCD HOME’s carpet-cleaning process. Your priority is to clear loose belongings and make the carpet accessible. Dry soil needs to be removed before wet cleaning, which is why we include this step rather than relying only on extraction. Follow any additional preparation instructions supplied with your booking.

We can plan to move agreed light items. Heavy pieces, bed frames, delicate furniture, electronics and valuable objects need separate arrangements and may remain in place. Empty accessible surfaces and move fragile belongings yourself before we arrive. Confirm furniture handling when booking so you know which carpet areas will be reached and which will be cleaned around.

A returning spot can come from material deeper in the carpet moving upward as it dries, often called wicking. Sticky residue can also attract fresh soil after the appointment. Take a photo, note when the spot returned and contact us before adding another cleaner. We can reassess the cause and decide whether a targeted follow-up is needed.

No. Cleaning can remove many soils and spills, but bleach, dye loss, sun fading and damaged fibers are different problems. Some stains permanently change the carpet’s color. We assess the mark and discuss realistic improvement before treating it. If the fibers are already damaged, more aggressive cleaning may make the area worse rather than restore it.

Plan for around 4 to 8 hours, with the actual time affected by fiber, cleaning needs, airflow and humidity. A room with limited ventilation may take longer than an open, well-ventilated space. We will give you instructions for the areas cleaned. Wait for complete drying before normal use and before returning items that could trap moisture or transfer color.

No. Carpet fiber, upholstery dyes, stone composition and floor finishes respond differently to moisture and cleaning products. A treatment suitable for ceramic tile may damage marble, and a carpet spotter may discolor a sofa. We check the material and condition before choosing the process. Keep manufacturer instructions and information about past treatments available.
