Your Carpet Cleaning Checklist
A little preparation makes a carpet-cleaning appointment easier to plan and easier to live around. Use this checklist to identify the work, clear the right items and protect the result while the carpet dries.

When you book
List the rooms, stairs and landings you want cleaned. Mention pets, odors, difficult spots and any special carpet information. Include access details such as parking, gates, stairs or building requirements.
Ask which furniture can be moved and which pieces should remain in place. Confirm whether extra treatments or other surfaces are part of the appointment so the time and scope are appropriate.
Before the team arrives
Pick up toys, clothing, small rugs and other loose belongings from the areas being cleaned. Move fragile objects and valuables to a safe place. Clear the route to the rooms and identify any items you do not want moved.
Arrange a separate area for pets and children. If a stain is easy to miss, photograph it or make a note of its location; avoid sticking adhesive tape directly to the carpet.
At the walkthrough
Show the technician traffic lanes, pet areas and spots you have already treated. Name the products if you know them. Mention loose seams, ripples, worn spots or previous damage.
Review the recommended process and expected result. Confirm any change in scope or optional treatment before work begins, and keep a contact available for questions during the appointment.
While the carpet dries
Follow the drying guidance for the actual carpet and conditions. Around 4–8 hours is often a useful estimate, but some situations need longer. Use suitable airflow as advised and avoid bringing soil back onto damp fibers.
Take care when stepping from damp carpet onto hard flooring. Leave protective furniture tabs or blocks in place for the recommended time, and keep children and pets away until the area is ready.
After normal use resumes
Check the result and contact the team if something needs another look. A returning spot may need reassessment rather than repeated home treatment. Keep your service record and any aftercare instructions.
Resume routine vacuuming when the carpet is dry and appropriate for the material. Keep entry mats clean, respond to spills promptly and plan the next assessment around actual traffic and condition.
