Identify the stone and existing finish
Share installer information, the stone name and any sealer or coating history. Marble, travertine, limestone and granite do not all react the same way to products or abrasion. A polished surface and a honed surface may also have different appearance goals.
If the material is unknown, ask how it will be assessed. A provider should not choose a process solely from a photograph’s color.
Describe the problem precisely

Review evidence of relevant work and ask how concerns will be handled. A useful estimate identifies the surfaces, process and intended result rather than relying on broad restoration promises.
